Recipient Quotes

I am so very appreciative of the Nickle Family Foundation for providing the opportunity for Indigenous students like myself to strive for excellence in education and giving back to others as Sam, Carl and other Nickle family members have done for so long. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for providing such a wonderful opportunity for students!”

Purpose

After learning of the blatant systemic racism Indigenous Peoples face in Canada’s Health Care system, illustrated by the tragic stories of Brian Sinclair and Joyce Echaquan, members of Nickle Family Foundation were moved to help foster meaningful change. The Nickle Family Foundation Bursary for Indigenous Learners was born out of this understanding. Although systemic reform will take time, it is our hope that Indigenous representation in the Health Care system will help combat discrimination and racism.
