Each year, we get about 250 applications and roughly 40 advance to the decision stage.
Even if your request meets our guidelines exactly, it will be competing against dozens of others. Our directors strive to assist as many organizations as possible, but unfortunately, we can’t fully fund every request.
First impressions are vital and your application is the key to a positive first impression. Try to put yourself in our shoes and give us as much context as you can.
Explain why your organization exists, who you serve, and why your cause matters. Make a strong case for why your need is urgent compared to others.

Grant sizes have varied from as small as $100 to as large as $560,000. Ask for the amount you truly need.
The most common grants are between $5,000 and $20,000. That said, our directors reserve the right to give more, less, or no funds at all.
We have two granting periods, one in the spring and another in the fall.
The spring session opens March 1 and closes March 31, with decisions announced by the end of April.
The Fall session starts September 1 and closes September 30, and the decisions are announced by the end of October.
We don’t have a strict rule about how often we will grant to the same charity. However, if you received a grant within the last 3-4 years, your application will be given lower priority. If your need is urgent, you are welcome to explain why.
While we appreciate recognition, publicity and naming opportunities don’t influence our decisions. Please save those offers for donors who value them. We also do not consider sponsorship requests.
This program has been closed to new applicants. All commitments made prior to 2010 will be honoured.
